Photoshop: How to do the crooked sides

kyh once asked me, how did I do the ‘crooked’ sides on my photos, so… here goes.

1. Open the picture you want to edit in Photoshop. Select the Polygonal Lasso Tool.

If it doesn’t show, right click on whatever Lasso tool is showing at that time, and choose Polygonal Lasso Tool.

2. Click on the outside of the picture and go around the side of the picture according to how you want the sides of your pictures to be “cut”. To set a point, just left click.

3. Once you’re done, click on the beginning point and it will show dotted lines like this:

4. And you’re almost done. Now you just need to copy, and open a new window (File -> New -> OK). Remember to copy before opening a new window, then Photoshop will open the new window according to how big the image you copied.

Then paste the picture on your new window, watermark it if you like, save it and you’re done! :)

p/s: If you’re wondering what’s on my neck, it’s actually an Iban “tattoo” drew using marker pen. :P

    wah…clap clap clap! bravo!!!
And to have the picture taken upside down like that, just take a normal photo right side up, open the picture in photoshop and select transform > rotate 180 degrees :)

Hey Ehon, I was wondering how you did that, now you could enlighten me on how to do those squiggle lines similar to the one on the header of this page.

Take care of yourself and I’ll see you in Sydney at the end of the month

    Daniel
