when your one and only son, your one and only beloved son takes his own life?
Remember I wrote about the book, ‘An Awkward Fit‘, I read, and I said I want to meet the author?
Well, I did and it totally made my day.
I think that youth suicide is absolutely unnecessary, and can you imagine how devastated it is for a mother?
Imagine if you’re a mother and you love your son more than anything else. And you just saw him few days before, and you guys had a good night together - good food and all - and all these while, you’ve been so close with your son, you guys are almost like best friend.
And the next thing you know, one fine day, a cop shows up at your door and let you know that your son died.
How do you cope? How can you make sense of that? And how do you grieve?

This is a superwoman, I tell you. Although after the funeral, she succumb to depression, she fought it - took her medicine, took care of herself and reach out for help!
Stephen has schizophrenia, and he has so much love for the world. But the world remains as a cruel, judgmental and ignorant place. He’s a brilliant writer and he has recorded all his thoughts, his feelings, and all his insights into a book, hoping that one day he could publish it.
He never did.
And Helen found it while cleaning his belongings. And decided to continue his dream, and finish his book for him from her perspective of view. She did it. And she did it really well. Stephen must be damn proud.
After I finish reading the book, I cried really badly! And I sent her an email right away to have a meet up and do an interview with her. I was more than thrilled when I got her reply.
Such a gentle soul, with a beautiful heart of gold. It hurts me that she had to go through that pain. I think it is an honour for me to meet her.

sounds like a really good book. will look for it after my exams when i have AMPLE of time. hahaha. you should read ‘As Nature Made Him: The story of a boy who was a girl.’ It’s a very good book and makes you think about how twisted the medical world can be sometimes.
