I tutor first year Biology and I realised that when my class gets too noisy, they tend to shut up when I say, “KIDS!!!”
But honestly, these bunch of kids (with a few mature aged students) really cracks me up sometimes. But sometimes, they bring me stress and pressure!
Dr Ian Menz is one of the first year lecturers who is doing research on molecular stuff, more specifically, on proteins like enzymes and so on. All the Biology lectures are held in STH3 which is South Theatre 3 and he’s a bald guy by the way.
This is what I found on the discussion board of the first year Biology topic today:
“Our Menzy, who art in STH3,
shiny be thy head,
thy laboratory come,
research will be done,
on earth,
as it isn’t done in heaven,
give us this day out daily cred(it),
and forgive us our cut classes,
as we forgive those who theologise against us,
and lead us not into prostration,
but deliver us to darwin.
In the name of the protein,
and of the phospholipid,
and the holy nucleotide,
Amen”
Kids these days.
