There’s nothing better than to wake up at 9.00am in the morning without the alarm and having the whole house to yourself.
Threw the laundry into the washing machine, blast the stereo, made myself a good omelette (onion, eggs, milk, salt, pepper and mushrooms) and coffee (not the best but oh wells)!
To top that, the housemate’s girlfriend decided to buy me lunch! She bought me Subway and two cookies. How sweet.
Those who know me or have followed this blog for quite sometime would know that I am an incredibly lazy cook, but enjoy good food. Throw me a short, lazy recipe and I’ll be very happy!
So here are two lazy recipe to share courtesy of Ben’s mum:
Note: I don’t follow measurements so use your common sense.
Devilled Chicken
Ground ginger (optional)
Mustard powder (I use mustard sauce)
Curry powder
Black pepper
Salt
You can mix these together with the chicken (preferably fillets) and leave it, or alternatively, for busy people like me, you can chuck EVERYTHING in just before cooking.
Tomato sauce
Worcestershire sauce (which I skipped ‘cos I don’t have any)
Chutney (same as above)
Soy sauce (an Asian kitchen’s must-have!)
I also added broccoli so I have some greens in my meal, onions, maryland and olive oil, just because I can.
Throw them all in together, mix well, chuck them in the oven, put it to high heat and leave it for 45 mins. Goes *really* well with rice. Or spuds if you’re Irish.
p.s.: If you’re as lazy as I am, wrap your bowl with aluminum foil so you don’t have to scrub hard later.
***
I slept over Ben’s place again on Thursday night after his mum convinced me to. I was supposed to just drop by because we were going to a public lecture that night. His mum made this super awesome pasta, and it doesn’t help when it’s super simple too.
Butter
Milk
Flour
Water
Cheese
Pasta
More cheese
Melt butter, mix flour well with water and milk and chuck them into pot where your melted butter is. Bring to boil and then put in cheese. At the mean time, boil your pasta. Drain pasta and throw them into the your creamy sauce. Ready to serve. Add cheese, salt and pepper before you eat. By “add cheese”, I mean lots and lots of cheese (slurp!)!
If you have good, short, lazy recipes, please share! Sharing is caring. Caring is loving. Loving is…. er.. forget it.
p.s.: Have I mentioned more cheese in the pasta?

Haha, that’s my style too! Sometimes… ok, most times. Throw everything into the pot/pan, including the kitchen sink! Including the aluminum foil!
