Ever since I did my training with Alvin Leong, I’ve been addicted to wedding photography. Ok, maybe ‘addicted’ is a bit exaggerated but yeah, I’m very ‘into’ the whole wedding photography thing. There is just something really magical about wedding photojournalism, and until you’ve experienced it, you wouldn’t understand it.

I’ve been reading a number of wedding photography blogs and looked at a few websites and I must say there are a lot of really good photographers out there. Most of the time, it’s not only about the photography, it’s also about the editing.

So here I present to you 3 of my favourite wedding photographers. I like each for them for various different reasons and I have other favourites too, but some don’t blog, and some, I don’t really follow.

Alvin Leong

Obviously, I am a fan of his otherwise I wouldn’t even ask him to be my mentor / teacher! He’s one of the very few photographers who is really good at blending into the background and catching spot on ‘magical moments’ pictures. You wouldn’t see him around you when he’s at work (less distractions) and when you see the photos he produces, some of them you probably wouldn’t know happened.

Another thing about Alvin Leong’s photos which I love is the simplicity in them. They’re always light, simple and just very very pleasant. Like.. like a breath of fresh air. He’s able to make simplicity beautiful!

Jessica Claire

Jessica Claire is an amazing photographer and probably one of the most well-known ones in America or maybe even around the world. Her pictures are so amazing you wouldn’t believe it! I’m being really serious without a tad of exaggeration at all!

I love her work because she uses colours and lighting really, really well. She’s able to make ordinary places extraordinary from a coffeeshop to a barber. Name a place and she’ll turn the place into one of the most amazing background!

Jessica’s blog is also always very intimate and detailed and it’s as if you really do know her or her clients by just reading her blog. I love that because it comes across as warm and friendly, and she offers tips and advices from time to time.

Ben Chrisman

This is my most favourite of all my favourites! One can beg to differ, but I really love his pictures. Some people don’t quite like his use of vignetting, but I love them. Ben Chrisman has one of the most detailed photographs as well, and this man has unbelievable photography skills!

He’s a good example of photographers who think outside the box. He take pictures you wouldn’t imagine or even think of. There’s this one photo which is my favourite of all time but I couldn’t find it

Ben is really good with playing around with colours as well and all his pictures have perfect lighting! I *always* look forward to his blog update because all his pictures are just jaw-dropping!

p.s.: Photos taken from the photographers’ blog.
