Singapore Stop Over

I had to transit for 24 hours (supposedly - more story later) in Singapore this time I’m back. Normally, it’s only about 10 hours, and I just have to sleep a night and go to the airport the next day.

Anyway, my first “culture”, or rather, “accent”, shock happened when I ordered water, and the waitress repeated my order, “wah-ter har?”

I met up with my grandpa around noon the next day at Jurong East and we went for lunch at Tanjong Pagar.

“water chicken” which basically is toad thighs. It’s superawesomegood! It’s been a while since I last had it.

Jumping from 9 degrees to 29 degrees isn’t exactly my ideal way of holiday. The heat and humidity was enough to kill me!

I am not a big fan of Singapore mainly because of the never-smiling-people, just like Kuala Lumpur and Sydney. I had a good discussion with May once, about how Sydney siders generally either walk with 100km/hr wearing the most elegant clothes, or they walk at 50km/hr looking downwards.

Another sign that you have reached Asia: you pay less than 5 bucks for a meal, and you have more choices than you can eat.

I didn’t get a chance to try the toad when I visited Singapore, and I am starting to regret already.
