When I decide whether to give to an organisation, often it's spurred by a recent event - having heard about the organisation from someone whose opinion I trust, or having seen the org make an impact. For me, trust is very important - I have to know that the org is making a difference. I gain confidence when an organisation is transparent about its costs, its reach, its goals and its methods.
