I shall abandon professionalism and actually admit that I wrote this section myself.
Amongst many things, I am a researcher, thinker, teacher, change agent and most of all, I’d like to think that I am an avid observer and learner still trying to find my place in this world, and be significant in my own interests and passions.
I have passion for young people who are inspired. I believe that these people, given the right support and resources can do GREAT things.
I get excited by emerging technology, especially harnessing the power of emerging technology to drive social change.
I co-founded and is currently the Director of Research for YES Brisbane (Youth, Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation), a non-profit venture dedicated to resourcing and supporting young people with ideas.
I am a member of Sandbox, an exclusive community that selects the most inspiring young achievers and innovators under 30 worldwide and connects them to each other.
I am also a Youth Ambassador for the Inspire Foundation, a non-profit that utilises information communication technology to help millions of young people lead happier, meaningful lives.
I am a co-author for Digital For Good, an attention/information philanthropy organisation, supporting non-profits use of information communication technology.
Research Officer for Project Australia, an online incubator for social innovation, helping launch non-profit ideas that address social needs.
My former roles:
I was a Research Project Officer at the Teaching and Educational Development Institute, and Academic Support at the School of Education at The University of Queensland.
My interests lie in youth and community engagement; activism; social innovation; online and offline community; and how I can tie all these together. I have presented and attended a number of international and national conferences, ran a few workshops and still figuring out what I want to do with all my different interests and education backgrounds.
Always up for coffee!
